Work in progress for crit in December.
I had been suggested to incorporate 3D to my 2D work, as I paint with so much texture and I love Lego so much!
I made a zimmer frame out of Lego to relate to my dad becoming my child and I made the nicotine and codein molecules out of ping pong balls, to be even more playful. Took me ages! I used the molecules as links between the different fragments. I also painted a flamingo on too narrow a canvas so I finshed the tip of the wings with some Lego. Importance of limitations once again! Peers and tutors also suggested to explode the canvas on to the wall and to carefully compose a piece. It prooved harder than expected. Here is what it looked like… I had good feedback. I now need to look up Jessica Stockholder for more painting / installation and experiment. The End (of year show) is near….
